Le troisième interlocuteur
For a long time, we looked up at the sky in search of another intelligence, a close encounter of the third kind.
We imagined that encounter elsewhere, in another world, in another form. And meanwhile, almost without noticing, another encounter was beginning here, among us.
In recent years, new interlocutors have appeared. Neither men nor women, nor human at all — and yet fed on our words, our ideas, our discoveries, our intuitions, and our mistakes too.
Artificial intelligence does not come from elsewhere. It comes from us: from what we have written, thought, passed on, documented, created and sometimes misunderstood.
It is already changing the way we learn, work, heal, decide and publish. But if it is to shed light without misleading, it has to stay in its place: a powerful tool, not an oracle.
So we have given it a clear place in our editorial work: to help, structure, compare, proofread, explore and put things in perspective — never to replace human responsibility.
Humans write. AI sheds light.
That sentence sums up our approach: accessible, well-sourced and verifiable books, kept up to date, to understand the world that is coming without being dazzled by it.
That is exactly why we named our publishing house Le troisième interlocuteur — the third interlocutor.
